BioI'm not quite sure where to start. After all, how do you tell a story when you don't know quite how or when it began. It isn't as if I woke up one morning, looked in the mirror and there suddenly saw a distorted, misshappen reflection of myself. I never made the conscious decision to starve, sweat, ache and weigh in a vain attempt to change the way I felt about myself.
No, it wasn't like that at all. By the time I realised what was happening, I was already firmly in the grip of a full-blown eating disorder. I came to that realisation nearly 12 years ago and I am still no closer to being free from this all-consuming illness.
This is the online journal documenting my descent into the abyss of anorexia. Many people may find the entries disturbing or even appalling, but such are the realities of living with this serious and potentially life-threatening illness.
